Katie Cavuto Boyle is a superstar. For starters, she is the nutritionist to the Philadelphia Phillies, making sure the guys are well fed for the field. As a finalist on the reality show The Next Food Star, she lit up the screen, and word on the street is that she is in talks for a new TV show. Katie also volunteers her time to teach hundreds of breast cancer patients each year about nutrition and healthy eating. The list goes on.
Though petite in stature, this pretty brunette with the mega-watt smile, knows how to do some heavy lifting. So when she decided to host a Dine In, she wanted to really light it up. She did just that –and then some.
First, a magical location. At Katie’s request, The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society generously donated the urban oasis they have created in their Pop Up Garden near Rittenhouse Square. Fifty of her biggest fans – her family, friends and colleagues — showed up to celebrate.
Next, fall fare that wowed. Katie’s company, Healthy Bites, which offers nutrition and personal chef services, catered the dinner. And because she practices what she preaches, the dinner was healthy, full-flavored and fabulous. Dishes included farro salad with arugula, maple marinated chicken, string beans with olives and several types of cupcakes for dessert.
Finally, a gorgeous night. Beneath a harvest moon that looked like it was straight out of central casting, an acoustic guitarist strummed softly, strings of lights twinkled overhead, friends popped in to announce their engagement, flowers, herbs and grasses whistled in the wind — all of this in the middle of center city Philadelphia on a late September evening. But the star that shone brightest? Katie Cavuto Boyle, of course!
